In this tutorial we will look at setting another type of field, a Selection List, one with a single selection only.
Let’s create the new field.
Right click the Fields item in the Process Explorer and from the drop-down menu, click on New Field.
In the Create Field popup window, click Select List (Single Choice). Click Save.
Highlight your new field in the Process Explorer by clicking it.
This will allow you to edit your field in the Property Inspector, which is located on the right side of the workspace.
In the Property Inspector, select the text in the Name field and rename your new field to Single List.
To set the options that will be available for your users to select, click the ellipses to the right of the Options property.
In the Edit Options window that opens at the bottom of the workspace, add the values that you want to be made available. We will add Option 1, Option 2&3 etc.
One you have finished adding the options, click Done to close the window.
Drag and drop the field on to the Screen Designer.
Then move the field up to the location that you would like to see it on your issues screen.
Switch to your Jira environment so you can see your new design by clicking Create in your Jira window.
Your new field for selecting a single option is now available in the location that you chose.
You can see how this type of field works, you can select any of the options, or none of them, which is different to, for example, the checkbox field that allows multiple options. To finish creating the issue, add a name in to the Summary field, we will call it “Summary”. Click Create.
Open your newly created issue.
In your new issue, on your new field, you can select one of the fields, but only one.
Thank you for following this tutorial, we hope you find this field very useful in your projects.
